Charlotte Palmer Stewart, MT-BC, is the Founder and Director of Mella Music Therapy, LLCa music therapy agency which focuses on serving people of all ages with social, emotional, cognitive, behavioral, physical, and communication needs.. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University and holds a current Arizona teaching certificate with ESL and music endorsements. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Clinical Masters in Music Therapy and completed a six-month music therapy internship at Higher Octave Healing, a non-profit organization serving a variety of children, teens, and adults in clinic and community settings. Charlotte attended the Neurologic Music Therapy Training Institute through the Center for Biomedical Research in Music at Colorado State University to earn her Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) certificate and is currently an NMT fellow.

Charlotte enjoys working with a variety of populations, using a variety of music therapy techniques to enhance well-being and to remediate and rehabilitate. In addition to working with individuals in a one-on-one setting, she has had experience working in two special needs summer camps, a camp for stroke survivors, a community-based mom/tot music group, a bell choir for stroke survivors, a community music program for adults with dementia and Alzheimer's, Rock Band for teens with special needs, and doing music therapy sessions in special ed school classrooms. Her current focus includes working one-on-one with children with developmental disabilities and individuals of all ages with any type of neurological issues, including neuro rehabilitation.

Charlotte enjoys the outdoors, especially the beach and the mountains, and loves spending time with her husband, four adult children and grandson.


HALEY ZAZUETA

Haley is the office manager of Mella Music Therapy. She received her Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University in Family & Human Development. Along with her secretarial experience, she has worked as a respite and habilitation provider and as an aid in several special education classrooms. She has worked with children of a variety of ages and needs, particularly children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. While she enjoys working with all ages, she finds the most joy in working and interacting with those of elementary age. 

Haley is an AZ native and lives there with her husband. She plays the piano and guitar, while attempting to learn the banjo. Growing up in a house full of music, she has grown to love and appreciate music in its many forms. Haley and her husband share this love for music and enjoy attending concerts and musicals as well as singing together. She loves how music brings people together and helps create memories. She loves creating, eating, exploring Arizona, and spending time with family and friends.
